Anonymity is architecture
Student anonymity isn't a checkbox on a settings page — it's the structure of the system. There are no student accounts. The database has no concept of who practiced anything. We built it this way so no data breach, policy change, or acquisition can change it.
Teacher-first, always
WordSprout exists to reduce the admin overhead that makes teaching harder. Every feature is measured against one question: does this save a teacher time, or does it create work? Features that create work don't ship.
Simple is hard
There is no Assignments tab, no student leaderboard, no completion report. Not because we haven't thought about them — because we have, and decided they don't belong here. Simplicity in a product takes constant discipline to maintain.
The full picture in three sentences.
Teachers create word lists in the web portal and bundle them into a class. Each class gets a 6-character share code and a QR code. Parents enter the code on their child's device — the app imports the lists, works offline, and never sends anything back.
There is no roster, no progress dashboard, no student login. The only metric available to a teacher is how many times a share code has been redeemed — which tells you about the code's reach, not about any individual kid.
That's the whole system. Everything else is polish.
